Ruth Santee

 

Ruth Santee is an Oakland California based artist whose work has been exhibited in museum, non-profit and gallery venues, as well as in public installations for the San Francisco Arts Commission, Market Street Art in Transit Program. Permanent and long term exhibitions include the University of Oregon at Eugene and the David Brower Center in Berkeley CA.


Santee is a 1993 recipient of the Cadogan Fellowship from the San Francisco Foundation, a 1994 recipient of a commission from the San Francisco Arts Commission and received an Outstanding Achievement in Drawing Award from Bradley University in 2005. Her work has been reviewed in publications including the Los Angeles Times, Oakland Tribune, and the San Francisco Examiner.


She has taught at the California College of Art, Oakland, CA; Saint Mary's College, Moraga CA, and UC Davis. She currently is full-time faculty at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton CA teaching Color Theory, 2D Design and Printmaking.


Santee received a BFA from the College of Santa Fe, NM and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.
